Between the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, the life of Countess Sofia Cacherano di Bricherasio was intertwined with that of the Castello di Uviglie winery, one of the family properties she inherited, and with the rapid and irresistible changes of those roaring years. Following her from Turin to Miradolo and from Fubine to Uviglie, we will browse the exhibitors of the Great Wine Exhibition of Asti in 1884, attend the end-of-harvest ball, ride the first electric tram, gallop with Federigo Caprilli, and mourn with Mamma Teresa at the death of Emanuele di Bricherasio. We will see Sofia paint with Delleani, her friendship with Leonardo Bistolfi and her interest in winemaking and agriculture blossom, her admiration for the winemaker Giovanni Dalmasso, and the sweet relief from the sadness of loneliness emerge in the simple vitality of the Cascina di Uviglie and its inhabitants. It will be 1945. We will toast to peace and the new wine, with Sofia's Wine.
